The reminder is added to your calendar and repeats every month.
Choose what to record. Expense is money you spent. Rent is money from your tenant. Car is your rental trips and car costs.
Tap one to save today's trip.
Gas, repairs, car insurance, plates and other car costs. Enter the full amount. Only the rental part counts. Set your total distance for the year in the Report tab.
Add a photo or screenshot, say what it was for, then tap Organize. You check the details before anything is saved.
For now, type what it was for and I fill in what I can from your note. You check every field and confirm.
Pictures are saved privately with the entry. PDFs are not stored, so keep your own copy of those. Keep the paper receipt too for tax time.
For a home equity line of credit (HELOC) or similar. Record money taken out and what it was for, and the app suggests how much interest is rental.
Your most recent edits and deletes. This list cannot be changed.
Every plan has every feature. The difference is how many properties you can track and how many receipts the AI can read each month. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
Your records are always yours. If you ever have more properties than your plan allows, you can still see and export everything. You just cannot add more until you upgrade.
Payments are coming soon. Until then, nothing changes for you.
Add each house, apartment or unit you rent out. If you own it with someone else, enter your ownership percent, for example 50. Rename the starting property called "My rental" to your real property. Choose a property when you add rent, expenses, trips or car costs. If you change an ownership percent, it changes all years for that property.
Not sure of the land share? Your property tax bill shows the land value and the building value.
From last year's return or your accountant: the balance left to write off (undepreciated capital cost) at the start of that year. Leave both empty if you bought it this year or the app has tracked it from the year you bought.
An estimate from the published CRA and IRS rules. Have your accountant or tax professional check it before you file.
Everything here is optional. Only the tenant's name is stored, nothing else about them. It is used for your receipts and reminders, and only you can see it.
Leave "Lease ends" empty for month-to-month. With a monthly rent and a due day, Home tells you when a month's rent has not been recorded. It is a reminder only.
Shows your Repairs and maintenance entries for this property. A big job like a new roof or furnace is flagged: it may count as an improvement instead, so ask your accountant.
Tap Receipt on a month for a one-page receipt. The year receipt lists every payment you recorded for the year.
Your name is remembered on this phone only. The receipt lists the details you entered. It makes no legal claims.

This is a checklist of what you entered. It is not a review of your return and not tax advice. Have your accountant check it before you file. LandlordLog is not connected to the CRA or the IRS.
USA only. The standard rate is a set amount per rental mile that replaces gas, repairs, insurance and wear. You generally have to choose it in the first year you use the car for rentals. Ask your tax professional which is better for you.
Use your odometer: end of year minus start of year, all driving. Your rental trips come from the Car tab.
Your expenses added up by tax form line. Use these numbers when you fill in your form.
| Line | Category | Total |

Shown below the T776 table, not inside the expenses (line 9936). Have your accountant check it.
Biggest category first. Same numbers as the table above.
